Lippincott maintains an active intern program in its brand identity and retail practice areas. The preferred candidate is a junior, senior or graduate student, with an architectural, graphic, environmental, industrial, interactive, interior design or packaging background.
We offer an excellent cross-disciplinary, multi-cultural learning environment. Candidates will participate on teams leveraging 2D, 3D, Interactive, and Brand Strategy skill sets, and benefit from our ongoing internal education program.
The intern program, which includes a $18 per hour stipend, runs year-round, with internships typically lasting from 10 to 12 weeks.

Visual Communications Design Intern
The individual should be highly articulate, creative, motivated and show self-initiative to projects and daily routine. Ideally, they should have experience with QuarkXPress, Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash. Their education background should include communications design or interactive design.
The intern will work with senior design staff on a variety of projects in and related to communications design, packaging, retail and environmental design and interactive communications. Project work will encompass 2D, 3D and interactive design. Responsibilities will specifically include:
- Communications design: logo design, visual systems design, guidelines, presentations
- Interactive communications: design audits, information architecture, content blue printing, site design
- Packaging: competitive audits, conceptualization, structural ideation, merchandising, presentations
- Retail design: site audits, merchandising graphics, mood boards, presentations
Retail Design Intern
The individual should be highly articulate, creative, motivated and show self-initiative to projects and daily routine. Ideally, they should have experience with Illustrator, Photoshop, 3D Studio and AutoCAD. Their education background should include architecture, interior design, or industrial design with an understanding of environmental color and material palettes.
The intern will work with senior design staff on a variety of projects in and related to the retail environmental design group. Project work will focus primarily on retail prototype design and development, and environmental branding and communication systems. Responsibilities will specifically include:
- Production assistance on guidelines, sign programs and design projects
- Design and design presentation assistance on projects as required
- Development and documentation of design elements and components
- Updating and maintaining resource and materials library
